Web Business Analyst

Job Description
This highly motivated individual will be part of the Web and Mobile team and will be responsible for working with our client’s IT team, in-house contractors and external vendors to deliver web solutions to our client’s external and internal stakeholders. The business analyst will be responsible for collecting and documenting business requirements, contributing to solution design, authoring user stories, technical specifications and test scripts, and participating in the testing of web sites, web applications and business solutions for our client.
Successful candidates must have a deep and broad background in web application development and delivery from initial business case through deployment to operations and support. Prior experience writing system requirements, workflow documentation, project plans, and test cases is required.
Job Functions:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to discover and document business requirements, translating these high-level business requirements into the user stories and specifications needed by the Information Architecture and technical teams
  • Work with internal & external stakeholders to develop and document current business processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and document future business process flows
  • Work closely with the team to efficiently solve business needs/ problems with unique and innovative system designs and solutions
  • Provide the Quality Assurance team with the necessary details for them to test and validate that the technical solution has met scope and quality expectations
  • Responsible for ensuring the appropriate business training is provided to ensure a smooth "go live" scenario
  • Serve as SME for one or more applications or systems operated by Web and Mobile Solutions
  • Provide PM support, tracking tasks and coordinating resources   

Education Level and Years of Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent years of business and/or IT experience
  • 3-7 years of experience as a Business Analyst
  • 5-10 years of experience working with web applications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience with Agile methodologies preferred
  • Good understanding of data modeling and relational databases • Good understanding of web application platforms (SharePoint, .NET, Angular, Azure)
  • Experience with infrastructure build-out, application deployment, and release management
  • Experience with mobile technologies and solutions
  • Experience with DITA and digital publishing preferred
  • Strong technical thinking, analytical, and conceptualization skills; Ability to provide technical alternatives, recommend solutions, and participate in implementation
  • Expertise in multi-tasking in order to deal with many projects in various stages of scoping, requirements, design, development, and data conversion
  • Ability to work and produce required results without close supervision; Strong work ethic and self-starting attitude
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
