Job Description
Manage all aspects of the activities of the Knoxville site Facilities Technician, Hospitality Coordinator, Receptionist, and Shipping and Receiving Coordinator including but not limited to interviewing, scheduling, motivating staff, training, coaching, mentoring, developing performance goals, evaluating performance and administrating Institute policies and procedures. Coordinate and manage the Knoxville site Facilities operations to provide for building maintenance activities.
Coordinate, schedule, and administrate relocation and rearrangement activities on-site.
Manage all phases of capital and expense related projects to include initial recommendations, budgeting, vendor selection, and timely project execution.
Manage all Knoxville related Facilities budgets. Supervise and coordinate activities of outside contractors to insure proper operation of Institute equipment and buildings.
Work with multiple landlords in accordance with the leases to properly maintain the buildings and grounds.
Train and develop the Knoxville Facilities team to assure that the primary service objectives of the department are completed in a timely, efficient and professional manner.
Assist Corporate Facilities Manager with planning and policy formulation by providing timely and accurate information regarding Institute functions, needs, problem areas, and assist in seeking and developing solutions.
Assist the Corporate Facilities Manager in the design and development of Facilities programs and supervise their implementation.
Perform routine inspections of the Facilities, grounds, and equipment to determine repairs or maintenance necessary to maintain peak condition and efficiency.
Prepare requests for purchases of supplies, equipment and services necessary for Facilities operations.
Cultivate and maintain a positive business relationship with all Institute personnel as well as insure that all Knoxville Facilities staff develops and maintains similar relationships to assure mutual cooperation in completing customer requests and assigned tasks.
Be well versed in all Knoxville Facilities activities and responsibilities in order to serve as back up or interim replacement for staff members as needed.
Ability to perform hands-on maintenance to the Facilities and grounds and be involved in preventive, routine and corrective day-to-day maintenance.
Perform all work in accordance with all applicable policies, procedures, regulations, specifications, schedules, and standards of quality and safety.
Perform other duties as directed by the Corporate Facilities Manager.
Skill/Experience/Education Mandatory:
High school diploma required. BA or BS degree preferred with 4- 6 years’ experience in a Facilities management role with supervisory experience a must.
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.
Must possess superior organization skills with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks while remaining flexible at all times. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products.
Has experience planning and executing facility improvement and expansion projects of various sizes and complexities.
Ideal Candidate:
Has a sense of urgency with strong attention to detail.
Demonstrated skills in making independent judgments regarding Facilities operations.
Has thorough knowledge of the methods, procedures and policies related to Facilities Management.
Is knowledgeable in the laws, codes, ordinances, standards and regulations pertaining to specific duties and responsibilities of the position. 
Knows how to maintain effective relationships with personnel of other departments, professionals and members of the public through contact and cooperation.
Has knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions of the industry.
Knows how to act calmly and quickly in emergency situations. 
Has a proven track record of independently adhering to Facilities operating and capital budgets.
Willing to travel as needed
